Tonight, we won again on the road 5-4. This brings our record to 3-1, 3-0 vs. other JV teams. What a game. We were tied with 6 minutes left in the game when we broke through for 2 goals in 45 seconds. They managed to score one with 54 seconds left to make it interesting, but we held on to win our 3rd of the year, 2nd in a row. Rematch at our place in a little over a week.
After 4 games, 9 different players have scored goals, 11 of the 13 skaters have at least one point in some fashion, 9 of them with at least 2 points. My better goalie has a GAA of 2.30 and my #2 goalie has a 3.83, not a disaster by any stretch.
Our breakouts look like breakouts. Even though I feel we have a lot more work to do with them, the parents are raving about how much they've improved positionally, so much more than the older and much bigger teams we play.
We're winning. I see so much we need to improve on, yet I see how much better we are than so many of my teams of the past. Heck, at this point, only A--- looms as a probable loss. I'm dreading seeing them in 2 weeks, yet I know after that, we're gonna go on a roll of 4-5 straight wins based on how we've done so far. Heck, we're in the "tough" stretch of the season... and we're 2-1 in the midst of our toughest stretch of 5 games.
Wow... I can't tell you what this is doing for my psyche.
I'm floating.
Heck... it's Christmas and I'm not even stressed, depressed, upset, or dreading it.
Did food shopping, washed the floors, and took care of some dishes today. Got a busy day tomorrow, but should be good.
