Tuesday we are done.
It's been a strange season.
If we win, we should finish up at 8-9-1. It's not bad considering the schedule we play. But it could have been a little better. It messed things up to have worked so hard on the two young ones as a defensive pair through all those practices only to have them taken up half-way through and then to have to put new people on D. If I had known from day 1 that I would lose them, I would have had all those practices to train the newer defensemen. Oh well.
It was a long ride tonight, but it was worth it. It was also nice to have R there at the game. She had been to our first two games of the year, so she got to see the difference. So many players have improved so much. They are playing well together and pulled out a 2-1 win on the road tonight in front of a strangely large and loud crowd for our level.
I like this years group.
They were a fun, good group of girls. As much as I love coaching hockey, I think I'll miss them singing on the bus, listening to their silliness, and hearing the other students state that my team is "completely insane."
One more game.
