This stuff gets sent to me each year, so I always find it fascinating. Any questions on what things mean, please ask. (Per capita GDP in US dollars confuses some non-geography people out there just for starters.) :-)

The birthrate is 22 per 1,000.
The deathrate is 9 per 1,000.
The infant mortality rate works out that one out of every 22 babies dies in the first year.
