crazy week
Jun. 29th, 2003 11:01 pmIt's a good thing I am on vacation.
Thurs 19th: Out for R's B-day
Fri 20th: Party at old friend's house. Strange feel to the party, but I am glad I got to see the hosts again.
Sat 21st: Out for big night with vanilla friends of R for her B-day
Sun 22nd: Handfasting/wedding followed by hockey (I got a goal and an assist)
Mon 23rd: Dentist afternoon/ football ref's meeting at night
Tues 24th: Meeting with my faculty for summer job followed by hockey that night (Got an assist). In my last 5 games, I have 6 points (3g, 3a).
Wednesday/Thursday 25th/26th: Prep to leave for NY and other stuff: Laundry, Dry cleaners, pictures, contact boss about issues regarding summer job/mtg, contact people who missed my mtg., hurry to post office to mail stack of documents, CVS for stuff, pay bills, hang out with ex-roommate, pack.
Friday 27th: Drive to NY through horrible traffic. Leave at 11:30 AM to pick up R at work, take one hour food stop from 2-3 PM. Arrive at her parent's at 6:30 PM!!! Aurgh!
R was not doing well and slept most of trip. My body (lower back) did not like sitting still driving for that many hours. Dinner with her folks was nice though.
Saturday 28th: Shopping with R and her parents. Went *really* well. (Hey, when do you hear a guy say that?) Got 3 new dress shirts (larger size so they fit my huge neck better) and 2 new ties, new belt, new bag w/ wheels for light travelling (whoo-hoo), new pair of walking shorts... all really cheap at this bunch of outlet stores. cool.
Saturday night, the 28th: NEVER leave planning up to someone (friend of R) who is not aware of the difficulties driving-wise of picking a place for dinner in Greenwich Village on Pride weekend!
Was it near anyone??? NO! 1.5 hr to drive into city from LI, another hour to drive *from* there to other friend's place where we were crashing... All in massive stop-and-swear traffic! (At least R drove Sat night)
Sunday 29th: After walking around for 45 minutes from place to place, we finally wound up at a brunch place that did not have a wait. The service, however, was SLOOOWWWW!
Sooo... we finally headed out at 2 PM (we really needed to leave by 1 PM) and I drove the 4 hours home because R was just too whiped out from Saturday. Got home at 6:30 PM, brought stuff in, put in contacts, packed up hockey stuff, and took off for Quincy. Made it a little late for my 7:50 PM hockey game. We s$%^ed tonight. I s#$@ed tonight. We lost 3-0.
I am now home... I have supply drop-off tomorrow for summer job.
Ugh! Thank God I am on vacation... ?
