There are some out there who do not get why people are making a big deal about the revelation that Senator David Vitter was using prostitutes to cheat on his wife. It's not that a senator was cheating on his wife... that, sadly, is not news. The key is that this is a man who tried to get people to vote for him because he claimed to be the moral candidate. He tried to create "Marriage Appreciation Week" for the week before a referendum in his state to ban or approve same-sex marriage. He claimed to be a family-values crusader. It is the hypocrisy of him trying to decide for others what is moral and what is not while he himself is sadly so troubled. He ran on a platform and belief that gay people were a threat to marriages.
I sometimes want to scream, "It's the hypocrisy stupid!!!"
I will not condemn an entire party or region of the country because of one hypocrite, but I will continue to condemn those who fight against equal rights for people who are gay.
ok...
off my soap box now.
And besides... Some would say that the leader of an anti-gay marriage movement paying women to put a diaper on him shows that indeed, there is a God... and he/she has a sense of humor. :-)
